Set in large, park like grounds, we are your ideal base for enjoying the many activities on offer year round in the area.
Situated just a short 3 minute walk from Methven township & its shops, pubs & cafés from here you can enjoy the many activities the area has to offer including tramping, scenic walks, fishing, water sports, golf, and skiing at Mt Hutt, hot air ballooning, visiting Mt Sunday (famous as a location in the Lord of the Rings trilogy), The Opuke Thermal Hot pools are just a short two minute car ride away, or a ten minute walk.

At Methven Camping Ground we work very hard to make sure everyone enjoys their stay with us, so please remember the amenities block is a shared facility so please clean up after yourselves and keep the amenities block clean and tidy so it is pleasant for all to use.
Toilets/showers (coin operated 1 x 50c coin per 5 minutes, max 10 minutes)
Laundry Room (coin operated Washer 1 x $2 coin|Dryers 2 x $2 coins)
Fully stocked Kitchen with pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses and cutlery
Lounge with TV & log fire
Games room with pool tables, table tennis, fooze ball, dart board
Childrens' play area - swings, slide, bars, trampoline
Socializing
We encourage campers to have a bbq or a social drink with each other and from time to time Darren and Rhonda are happy to join you for a quiet drink or two!, but please remember noise does travel in a campground. So please be mindful of loud music, language etc. After 10pm you’re welcome to carry on but please … no noise!
The camp has a friendly & relaxed atmosphere offering a good old-fashioned kiwi camp ground experience. Accommodation options include tent sites, powered sites & assorted cabins. The spacious grounds can also easily accommodate large vehicles.

PAYMENT is via EFTPOS on arrival – we do not take a deposit for your booking, you are free to cancel at anytime prior to check in. Once you have checked in there are no refunds if you choose to checkout early.

The pods are very warm and cosy. Bedding included along with breakfast making facilities, jug, toaster, plates, cups and cutlery.

If you require an Earlier Check In or Later Check Out time please discuss when making your booking, it is not always possible but we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Smoking and Vaping E Cigarettes is NOT permitted inside any of the camp buildings/cabins/pods, including the toilets and showers.

Dogs / Pets Policy
Friendly quiet dogs/pets are always welcome,
BUT only for those who are staying in their own caravan/tent.
Please discuss this when making your booking, as some dog breeds/pets are not allowed. You can NOT bring your dog/pet if you are staying in our cabins and pods.
Under no circumstances do we allow bookings for a cabin or pod for those that intend on bringing a dog/pet of any kind.
We do ask that dogs are kept on a lead at all times and are not left to roam around the camp ground.
Dogs/pets are not to be taken into the amenities block including toilets, showers and laundry room.
Dogs/pets can not be left in camp ground unattended.
You must clean up your dogs/pets POO!
If people continue to disregard these rules for dogs/pets, sadly Methven Camping Ground will be forced to review our dog/pet friendly status.
